Certainly, a brave move by the Kia Motors brand is redesigned logo that is completely different from the previous one. The new logo is characterized by different typography, a completely new shape, as well as the color that went from red to black. Seemingly inspired by a similar design tested on Kia’s 2019 Imagine concept, the new logo follows a possible little problem.

It's forward-thinking, but also visually complex and difficult to make out if you don't already know it's Kia's new logo. The new Kia logo could easily be mistaken for "K A" or a "K" and a backward "N," and this presents a potential problem for the brand. If customers can't instantly recognize your brand through your logo, they might just stop paying attention.

Logo design is based on two basic principles. The first is a symmetry that symbolizes a sort of stability and confidence that the company has towards the future, said Karim Habib, head of Kia Global Design. The second principle is the rising gesture that you see on the "K" and on the "A", meant to symbolize a rise in what Kia wants to achieve with the brand and what provides in terms of the brand experience to customers in the future.

Officially in use since January 2021
In addition to the logo, Kia has replaced the previous slogan "The Power to Surprise" with a new "Moment that inspires".
